| GALVALUME-AFP OR ZINCALUME |
| DURABILITY |
| Superior Corrosion Resistance |
| Based on comparative coated sheet steel tests* at an industrial site at Bethlehem , PA , USA : |
| 55% Al-Zn exhibits no evidence of rust after more than 20 years ! Whereas, Zn rusted a 10 years, and 7% Al-Zn rusted at 9 years. |
| 55% Al-Zn is projected to endure more than 50 years to first rust, calculated on the basis of weight loss measurement! * As of June, 1987. |
|
|
| PROTECTION AT CUT EDGES |
| The coating of Galvalume provides cathodic protection for the cut edge and the cut edge of Galvalume is kept from rust for longer time than that of Galvanized steel. |

 |
| KESTERNICH TEST |
| Kesternich tests were conducted according to German Standard DIN 500 18 (2-liter SO2). In this test, 5-x, 6-in panels with unprotected sheared adges were exposed to daily repeated cycles of wet SO2 at 40oC for 8 hours slternated with drying in laboratory air for the remainder of the day. |
| . |
| HEAT-RESISTANCE |
| Heat-resistance of Galvalume is for superior to that of galvanized, and almost equal characteristics to Al-coated steel |
| Galvanized. |
| ......Recommendable temperature; 230oC & under. |
| ......Discoloration at 250oC.
|
| Galvalume. |
| ......No discoloration even for durable use at 315oC |

| . |
| HEAT-RESISTANCE |
 |
| * Comparison of heat transmission |
| . |
| Heat reflection of Galvalume is twice superior to that of galvanized steel.
|
| Therefore, it can get energy saving effect as roofing & walling without prepainting. |
